Girls
Grey pinafore dress or skirt, white blouse, burgundy tie, burgundy crested cardigan or v-neck pullover, white socks or grey or black tights, black shoes (velcro fastening for Infants).

Boys
Grey trousers, grey shirt, burgundy tie, burgundy crested v-neck pullover, grey or black socks, black shoes (velcro fastening for Infants).

PE Uniform (Boys & Girls)
Yellow crested aertex shirts and crested tracksuits, trainers (velcro fastening for Infants). Generic grey tracksuit bottoms may be worn with crested tracksuit top.

Suppliers
Crested knitwear and PE uniform and school ties can exclusively be obtained from Ted Murtagh’s in Trim. www.tedmurtagh.ie Other uniform can also be obtained from Murtaghs, but grey shirts and blouses, trousers and skirts can alternatively be obtained from Dunnes Stores, Marks and Spencer or John Lewis online. Murtaghs also attend at the school on school open day in June, for purchase and pre-order of uniform.

Notes: School uniform is optional during June, the last month of the school year. In February 2014, the PTA polled the parents and found that some wished to wear the tracksuit as school uniform especially in middle and senior classes. In consequence, the tracksuit is allowed to be worn as an alternative to school uniform on non-PE days.

Second-hand Uniform Swap Shop
The uniform swap shop is operated by the Parents Association as a service to the parents of Rathregan NS. To donate an item, or to inquire whether there is an item in stock you need, please text or call Ali Knapp on 087 417 6818.

Uniform Swap ShopHow the Swap Shop Works:
If you donate items of uniform you may swap up to the same number of items as you gave free from the items in stock. Alternatively, if you have no items to swap, you may buy any item in stock for a minimum donation of €2.00, with any funds raised going into the Parents Association Fund.  The Swap Shop stock will be brought to school coffee mornings and other events throughout the school year, or you can text Ali Knapp on 087 417 6818 to request an item an item at any time.  The swap shop operates on a first come first served basis. 

Donations:
We are pleased to receive any of the following items of school uniform in clean, nearly new or gently used condition, with no visible stains or repairs:

  • Grey trousers, skirts or pinafores
  • Grey blouses or shirts
  • Crested wine colour jumpers or cardigans
  • Yellow crested PE t-shirts
  • Crested tracksuit
  • Wine colour neck ties
